Fix 'em Fridays! : Happy 5th Anniversary!

Hi!

I am so excited about this recipe for ya'll! It is oh so scrumptious and not too bad for you! I was pretty amazed at how simple this recipe is too! I was super excited to post this because not only is it super good, but I made it for my anniversary dessert! Wahoo! I plan to put a little (and when I say a little, I mean a little!) ice cream on the side with some whip cream on top to make a true dessert!

I think I'm a pretty lucky lady to have such a great guy in my life. He is my mastermind, but I take the credit. He is my wheat to my bread and the vitamins to my fruit. Without him, I am simply incomplete.

What a week!!

Oh. My. Goodness! I am so glad another week has come because last week sucked big time!!! I did a terrible job at keeping with my goals and that "special friend" came to visit which is never any fun.

I was going through my video for last monday and it was close to 20 minutes long.. that's WAY too long for ME to watch much less everyone else. I know your time is precious so I opted out on last week's video. I need to find a faster way to talk about everything I want to talk about.

Anywho, how are you all doing? Are you making any improvements on goals? Did you accomplish what you set out to do last week? I would love to hear what worked and didn't because I need a little pick me up!! hahaha!! I feel like I've moved past the first month and am losing sight of my goal! Yikes! i don't want to do that!

TOPIC SPECIAL : Know your NUMBERS!!

Ever wonder why you can't lose weight? Or lose it consistently? Well, have I got a video for you! I'll be sharing how I personally count and keep track of all my numbers to get healthy, consistent long lasting results! This is a bit of a meaty post, so don't feel bad if you have to stop it, come back to it and take some notes... its good for ya, I promise!!

The Numbers: 

1. Current weight
2. BMR (basal metabolic rate) & BMI (Body Mass Index)
3. Total calories to eat/day (current weight x 7)
4. Total calories burned/day
5. H2O to consume (your current weight divided by 3)
6. 3,500 = 1 POUND



Examples:

There are 3 types of results depending on what numbers are in the equation. These aren't real numbers, I'm just trying to keep it simple. Basically, if you eat more than you burn, you gain (1). If you eat the same amount as you burn you stay the same or maintain (2) and if you eat less than you burn, you lose (3).

Here are the examples:

a. 3,000 (calories in) - 1,500 (Calories out) = 1,500 calories gained

b. 3,000 (calories in) - 3,000 (calories out) = 0 calories gained

c. 1,500 (calories in) - 3,000 (calories out) = 1,500 calories lost

If you aren't concerned about how many lbs you want to lose in a week, just know that you have to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight.

Fix 'em Fridays! Jillian Michael's Fudgy BROWNIES!!!

Are we all super excited its Friday?!?! I am!! Holy smokes! I thought this week would never be over! Not that it was bad, but seriously.. I'm just glad its over! hahaha

How are you doing with your goals this week? Good.. not so good? I'm kinda in the middle. But I still have 2 more days to go! Yay!

Ok, seriously, I plan to make these for the rest of my life! These can totally and easily replace your ol' fudgy brownie mix any day! Watch the video to see how easy and tasty these things are!

Jillian Michael's Fudgy Brownie Recipe:

Prep time:5 min    Cooke Time: 25 min ( 15 for mini cupcakes)
Total Time: 30 mins    Makes 16 squares (or 36 mini cupcakes)


What you'll need:

Olive oil flavored cooking spray
2/3 cup Mild Honey such as clover or orange blossom
1/3 cup unsweetened all natural cocoa powder
1/2 white whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder, aluminium free
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 large egg room temp
3/4 tsp vanilla

Prep:

Preheat to 350

Microwave Honey for about 45 secs or until runny. Add cocoa powder and whisk with fork until blended.  LET COOL TO ROOM TEMP. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, combine flour mix, soda, powder and salt.

In a large bowl, combine applesauce, oil, egg and vanilla. Add honey-cocoa mix and whisk until smooth. Add flour mix and stir until no traces of flour remain. Scrape batter into prepared pan.

Bake until surface looks dry around the edges. Insert a toothpick into center and look for a moist, crumb clinging consistency.  DO NOT OVER BAKE. Let cool completely before serving.

I hate Mondays, but I love Mondays...its a love hate relationship for sure! I hate them because how can you beat Sundays? Really, there is no comparison. AND.. because I have to weigh myself. Not that I have been bad... it's just that battle of being patient enough to see your goals come to fruition thing. I love Mondays though, because I get to see my goals come true and I feel good starting another week chalk full of challenges! Yipee!

Wednesday: The Good, the bad and the Nasty!!

Happy Wednesday to everyone! The weekend is almost here! Yay! Yay! Yay!

I'm happy to announce Mom's for Losers' first "THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE Nasty" segment!! I will post a new video every Wednesday to show you 2 good (usually something I use myself), 1bad and 1 nasty thing that relates to health and fitness. 

I thought of this idea a while ago when I was walking through the grocery store and found something so nasty (and I'm afraid I have eaten it before) and almost lost it! I will be posting what that item is next Wednesday. I want to take a picture of it first. If I had one, it would be the nasty thing this week! Eeew!
